The good news from the Ravalli County Public Health Department - the recent positive COVID-19 results were not by community spread. The infection was travel-related and the health officials know the names of the people who were in contact with the initial infected person. Of the nine, eight tests were positive for COVID-19 and one was negative, according to the State Lab of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services Wednesday. Local contact tracing of over 30 people is continuing, but there are no changes in the county's schedule for opening businesses. Ravalli County will continue to follow Montana Governor Steve Bullock's Phase Two Reopening stage that begins June 1st. More information is available on the Ravalli County COVID website.

The Public Health Department thanks the public for their help with this week's contact tracing and knows that there are plenty of rumors about the nine cases. However, the department is following privacy protection standards. If you have questions about anything to do with COVID-19, call 375-6672 or the Montana Hotline at 1-888-333-0461. Please continue to social distance, wear facemasks and limit the number of people gathering together.
