Ravalli County Fair is Wednesday through Saturday in Hamilton
The livestock and exhibit judging is already underway, but the public opening of the annual Ravalli County Fair and Rockin' RC Rodeo is Wednesday, August 30.
Of course, the fun starts with the Ravalli County Fair Parade at 10 a.m. on Hamilton's Main Street. KLYQ's Steve Fullerton will be M.C. again this year and will be announcing the parade winners of each category as they pass before the announcing stand in front of Bitterroot Drug.
The Ravalli County Fairgrounds exhibit buildings and barns will open at 10 a.m. and there is a huge increase in entries this year in quite a few of the divisions.
The Carnival will start the rides at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Thursday, Friday and Saturday the carnival will open at 1 p.m.
During the day, the nationally known hypnotist Michael Mezmer will entertain at the KLYQ Free Stage. He has been a huge hit every time he's come to Hamilton.
At the arena, it's lots of rodeo action. Wednesday night, it's the team-based Ranch Rodeo competition. Thursday night is Bull-A-Rama and Cowboy Bronc Riding, Friday and Saturday is NRA Rodeo action. The rodeo admission is included in your Fair entry ticket. One price for all the entertainment. Free parking, too!
By the way, don't miss the Wednesday 6 p.m. FFA Cake, Cookie and Pie Auction at the KLYQ Free Stage. Prize-winning goodies you can take home.
Also Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. is the Ravalli County Fair Poetry Contest. Winners in different age categories will be reading their winning entries.
That's just the first day!
