Ravalli County Fair Offers Wide Variety of Fun
The 2017 Ravalli County Fair enters its final day Saturday, September 2 at the Hamilton fairgrounds. And the day is jam-packed with activity.
The 4H and FFA families look forward to the Market Livestock sale Saturday morning. The auction begins at 8 a.m. The order of the annual sale will be sheep, swine, meat goat, beef and dairy.
The exhibit buildings open at 10 a.m. and Carnival opens at 1 p.m.
At 1 p.m. there will be a cheese demonstration at the Agriculture Barn. By the way, the Ag Barn has some interesting creative creatures made of fruits and vegetables. I think the photo below is a rare breed of "crab" apple.
The 4-H Horsemanship Demonstration will be in the main arena at 12 noon. Grain threshing and Hay bailing with antique farm equipment will happen at the North Gate about 2 p.m.
The NRA Rodeo finals will start at 7 p.m.
At the KLYQ Entertainment Stage, the Country Step Cloggers will kick things off at 1 p.m., The Bitterroot Community Band will be at 3 p.m., followed by a special hour of Sasquatch information and maybe a "calling" contest, in preparation for the Big Sky Bigfoot conference in Hamilton September 22.
The popular hypnotist Michael Mezmer will perform at 2 p.m. and have his final performance of the fair at 5 p.m. on the KLYQ stage.
We've had great performances at the stage, including great music and dance.
