Red’s Bar Continues Annual Gift Wrapping Fundraiser
Red’s Bar in Missoula is continuing an annual tradition for the 14th year this holiday season by providing gift wrapping services to benefit a local youngster.
Organizer Laurie Clark provides details.
“For the 14th year we are doing Christmas wrapping to benefit someone who has had a string of bad luck,” said Clark. “In this case, 13 year-old Ryan Compton from Frenchtown who had a sinus injection that became bacterial meningitis. He was life flighted to Seattle and has had part of his skull removed, and he’s been back and forth several times to replace his skull, so he’s had a tough road and we thought we’d raise some money to help him and his family.”
The concept is simple. Just bring your unwrapped gifts to Red’s Bar and the volunteers will do a professional looking wrap job.
“Gentlemen like to bring their presents down and their wives get some really nicely wrapped presents, rather than a wrapped up plastic bag or a paper sack,” she said. “You can donate what you want, then enjoy an adult beverage or watch a football game.”
The gift wrapping service will run from 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, then from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Christmas Eve wrapping will start at 11:00 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m.
