Did You Know You Can Look Up Missoula Restaurant Inspection Results?
Ever wonder what's going on behind the scenes at your favorite Missoula restaurants?
Well, sometimes you may not want to know what's going on back there - just keep eating your burger and remain blissfully unaware of what's happening in the kitchen.
But if you do want to tempt fate and find out just how well your favorite restaurant keeps up to code, there is a way to do that!
Check Out the Missoula County Database for Restaurant Health Inspections
You asked for it, you've got it. The Missoula City-County Health Department has an online database that allows anyone to see the results of any restaurant in Missoula's health inspections over the years.
All you have to do is follow this link - and then, once you're there, you can search for any restaurant in Missoula. If they've been inspected at all in the past six or seven years, their results should pop up.
I looked up a bunch of local restaurants out of curiosity and didn't see anything too damaging from the ones I looked up. One positive example I saw was Plonk, which has been inspected 8 times since 2014 - most recently last December - and has improved so much that the most recent inspection saw zero violations of any kind.
The Missoula County Twitter account reminds people that the purpose of this database isn't to put anybody on blast - as they put it, "anyone can have a bad day." The idea is that potential customers can see the patterns at certain places for themselves and make an informed decision.
