Seat Belts Saved Two Lives on Highway 93 South on Saturday
Seat belts definitely saved two lives today.
At about 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Old Highway 93 South and U.S. Highway 93 South just north of Trader Brothers. Lieutenant Ken Lewis with Missoula Rural Fire detailed the two vehicle accident.
"One vehicle was pulling out of Old Highway 93 South and was t-boned by a vehicle heading south on Highway 93 South," Lewis said. "We checked out both patients. One patient refused treatment, but the other got transported to St. Pat's (St. Patrick Hospital) for unknown injuries. We did an assessment but didn't find anything."
Lewis said both drivers were wearing seat belts, and both airbags deployed.
Deputies with the Missoula County Sheriff's Office provided traffic control while first responders were on the scene. They remind drivers to reduce speed when approaching an accident scene.
The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
