See What Happens When Romeo & Juliet is Set in Modern-Day Montana
We have all spent some time studying the masterful works of Shakespeare. Even if you were not forced to study his works in school, odds are you still are familiar with his writings. The most famous of which has got to be the story of "Romeo and Juliet."
We all know the story, but just in case you can't remember it completely, here is part of the synopsis from shakespeare.org.uk
An age-old vendetta between two powerful families erupts into bloodshed. A group of masked Montagues risk further conflict by gatecrashing a Capulet party. Romeo’s attempt to halt a street fight leads to the death of Juliet’s own cousin, Tybalt, for which Romeo is banished.
That is where the following video takes place. The confrontation between the two families results in a street fight. But, the following video doesn't take place in Shakespearean times. The following video takes place in the scenic town of Deer Lodge, Montana.
The Cutler Bros Production team put together a short film, displaying what would happen if the Montagues and the Capulets met out back of the classic Montana Bar. Using the same verbiage used in Shakespeare's play, the cast shows how a feud between two Montana families would be settled.
The Culter Bros Productions have a newly renovated theater in downtown Deer Lodge, which has always got something going on. The fun and creativity of the group make it a must-stop destination for anyone looking for a short road trip to Deer Lodge. Check out their website for upcoming events.
