With Spring here and bonfires and barbecues in our very near future, it’s time to break out the smores. This recipe is a great way to break out the smores any time of day or night. It is one of those treats that looks like it takes a lot of time and hard work to make, but is actually really easy.

One of the best things about this recipe, in my opinion is that you get the great smore taste without your clothes and hair having to smell like smoke. That is my least favorite part of a bonfire. This week, give into that Spring feeling and bake up a batch of these babies.

Smores Cake Bars

1 box chocolate cake mix

1 egg

1 stick butter, soft

5 graham crackers

1 bag chocolate chips

2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows

1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Throw the cake mix, egg and butter into a bowl and mix with your hands until it turns into dough. Divide the dough in half. Press half of the dough into a greased 8x8 inch square pan. Place a layer of graham crackers over the dough. Evenly spread the chocolate chips over the graham crackers. Now sprinkle the marshmallows over the chocolate chips. Spread the remaining half of the cake over the top of the marshmallows. Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the entire the entire thing. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
