How are you feeling with where Missoula stands as we face the COVID-19 pandemic? As more businesses open their doors, I think we're all anxious to see what happens with the number of cases in the state. Will they multiply at a higher level with the increased public presence or remain at the lower levels we've seen recently?

One sign that things are slowly starting to return to form is that Southgate Mall has now reopened! Effective this morning, the mall is open again, but with modified hours. Even though the mall has opened it doesn't mean it's business as usual. Not all stores will be open to start and it remains up to individual stores on how they handle their own reopenings.

If you decide that it's finally time for you to rejoin the outside world, keep in mind that social distancing guidelines are in effect at the mall. You're asked to keep 6 feet away from others, wearing a cloth mask is recommended, and no gathering in groups.

Southgate Mall will continue with their cleaning practices and have hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the mall.

Southgate Mall reopening on May 4 Missoula, MT (May 2020) – Southgate Mall plans to reopen today, May 4 with hours of 11 am to 7 pm Monday-Saturday and 12 pm to 6 pm on Sunday.

Planned reopening dates for individual tenants may vary, so guests are encouraged to call ahead and to follow along on Facebook and Instagram at Facebook.com/Southgate.Mall and @SouthgateMall for the most up-to-date information.

Southgate Mall remains focused on providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. In the continued need to address COVID-19, the Center has proactively implemented additions to the Code of Conduct, effective immediately and until further notice.

These additions include the following guidelines for guests:
 Practice social distancing and stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) from other people.
 Covering your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover is recommended.
 Do not gather in groups.
 Adhere to each individual tenant’s COVID-19 policies.
 Adhere to all federal, state and local regulations, recommendations and mandates regarding COVID-19.

In addition, Southgate Mall already rigorous disinfectant and cleaning practices will continue, many times per day, including periodically disinfecting areas most susceptible to the spread of germs.

Alcohol-based hand sanitizer dispensers are located in highly-trafficked areas and walkways for public use. Center management is meeting with housekeeping on a daily basis and monitoring alcohol-based hand sanitizing product supply to help ensure all units are stocked.

“We are inspired by the resilience of our community and look forward to safely welcoming back our guests, said Tim Winger, General Manager at Southgate Mall. “We will continue to work with local, state and federal agencies to do all we can in order to contribute to the containment, treatment and prevention of COVID-19.”

While Southgate Mall transitions into reopening during this unprecedented time, more than ever, the shopping center is embracing its role as a community partner by finding unique ways to transform its space for social good.

Southgate Mall’s team has been eager to lend support for the local community during this trying time. The shopping center has hosted three blood drives in partnership with American Red Cross of Montana to help support their dire need for donations.
