Staying in Town Labor Day Weekend? Missoula’s Got Plenty Going On
If you're staying in town for Labor Day weekend, there are plenty of events planned to keep you entertained. Friday, September 3rd is not only First Friday all over downtown Missoula and beyond, but also Pride Night at the PaddleHeads game. Two significant highlights will be the unveiling of the Missoula Peace Sign at it's new home at the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center, and a fireworks show following the ballgame at Ogren Park.
Death Cab for Cutie play Saturday, September 4th, at the KettleHouse Amphitheater, the Griz play their first game that night as well, although it's an away game, but you can hear it in it's entirety on our partner station at 98.3 FM.
Sunday, September 5th isn't your day of rest. You've got the Steve Miller Band concert at the KettleHouse Amphitheater, I saw them in 2019 and was SO glad I didn't miss it, they really put on a fun show. The Hip Strip movie is one of my all time favorites, The Breakfast Club, and the big event of the weekend is Germanfest.
Arts Missoula is turning the Caras Part tent into a German Beer Hall from 2 to 6 p.m. This will be the 28th Germanfest in Missoula featuring beer and pretzels from Bayern Brewery, authentic hot German food favorites, like Schnitzel, Brats, Leberkäs, Sauerkraut, Potato Salad, and Seasoned Home Fries, from Alpens Guten Eaten food truck from the Alpenstüble Bakery in Stevensville. I'm about 16 seconds away from staying in town that day just to get me summa that potato salad, YUM! Plus, authentic German clay beer steins for sale, oom-pah music by Oktubafest, and activities for the kids.
And then maybe on Labor Day Monday, you can rest from all that fun!
