Though earlier cancelled due to COVID-19, the Stevensville Scarecrow Festival is back! The Stevensville Town Parks and Recreation Department will organize the event, where creative scarecrows line the cutoff road at the north end of Stevensville. Last year, the scarecrows continued through the town's Main Street, too. Only two categories this year- 1) the Kids division for youngsters up through the eighth grade and 2) the Adults, Business and Non-profit Division. The entry fee is $15 per scarecrow for the kids and $25 for the adults.

We love the creativity of this event and often humor is the main theme (see photo above). There will be no awards this year, but the entries along the bike path will be illuminated again for evening viewing on the days before Halloween. Entry forms are available on-line at www.townofstevensville.com/parksrec. Fill out the form and drop it off at Town Hall, along with the entry fee. You can also mail it to Box 30, Stevensville, MT 59870. Deadline is Monday, October 12. If you have questions, call (406) 777-5271.
