Stevensville Teen to Host Bone Marrow Donor Match Drive [AUDIO]
I just spoke to a remarkable young man named Kyle Christoper Anderson from Stevensville.
Two years ago, Kyle endured a bone marrow transplant, with marrow provided by his brother, and now, two years later, Kyle wants to 'give back' to the community by hosting a Bone Marrow Match Drive in Stevensville and Missoula. Here's the poster Kyle sent..
JOIN MY “BE A MATCH” MARROW TEAM
AND HELP SAVE LIVES…..
Hi, I’m Kyle Anderson. On September 22, 2010, two years ago, at the age of 16, I was given an amazing gift of life…a bone marrow donation from my brother, curing my aplastic anemia. At this two year anniversary of transplant, my “2nd birthday,” I want to help others obtain that gift of a “Perfect 10” matched marrow donation and I need your help once again.
There are two ways you can help!
- Registering to become a marrow donor. Free to register.
(You must be between the ages of 18-60 and in good health.)
- Donating $$ (even $5 helps) so we can process donors into the registry. (It costs about $100 to process the lab work for each potential donor.)
How you go about registering and/or donating…
- Come to my drives on Friday, Sept 21st or Saturday, Sept 22nd to do the cheek swab onsite and learn more. (Details below.)
- Go to my “Be The Match” webpage to order a swab kit to be mailed to your house, to make an on-line financial donation or to learn more.
OR… check it out and “like it” on FaceBook…
