July 5th's Montana COVID-19 report showed 45 new positive tests for the coronavirus, bringing the pandemic total so far to 1,212, with 23 deaths and 678 recoveries. Twenty people are currently hospitalized and there are 511 active cases throughout the state. By counties, Yellowstone County had the most new cases Sunday with 16, followed by Gallatin County with 11. There were 3 new cases in three counties - Big Horn, Glacier and Richland counties. Two new cases in Lake County and in Madison County. And 1 each in Missoula, Beaverhead, Flathead, Hill and Lewis & Clark counties.

Testing continues with over a thousand tests this weekend. Over 100,000 tests have been conducted so far in Montana. With community spread fears in many counties, health officials are urging the public to maintain health safety guidelines - 6-foot social distancing, washing your hands and cleaning surfaces and wearing those cloth masks. The next daily report will be Monday mid-morning from the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services.
