Bad weather, machine breakdowns and long lines did not keep the Missoula County Election Center from successfully carrying out the 2018 midterm election on Tuesday
The race for the U.S. Senate in Montana is still too close to call, with Matt Rosendale clinging to a 49 to 48 percent lead over Jon Tester as of 5:00 a.m.
Election results will be sent off to the Secretary of State's office throughout the night tonight, November 6, with initial results appearing just after 8:00 p.m.
Carol College Political Science Professor Alexander Street and his students conducted an exit poll during that election and says results show that Democrat Rob Quist was unable to convince Trump voters to leave the Republican fold.
There are still a few votes to be counted even after 3:00 a.m. the day after the Montana Special Election, but it's clear at this point that Republican Greg Gianforte has won the race, and by more than the five percent spread many had forecast.
