The Missoula County Office of Emergency Management made an emergency declaration at the end of April in anticipation of the high waters they knew would be coming.
Around 60 Montana Air National Guard units were expected to prepare for work on the Lolo Peak Fire near Missoula today, August 28, but changing conditions on the fire have led to a change in plans.
About 110 Montana National Guard soldiers are being deployed to help firefighting efforts in western Montana. This is the first fire related deployment of 2013.

Lots of you donated everything from tooth brushes to cash. We "passed the hat" a couple more times and, thanks to Nick and Logan from Bubs N Boards, we finally got some goodies heading to JC and the rest of the 495th.
