A group of families, friends and supporters of the Montana Grizzly football program have issued a call to action, recommending that sanctions imposed by the NCAA be reduced or revised.

The 2013 Montana Grizzly football season may have ended in disappointing fashion, but one after another, speakers at the Sunday December 8th football awards banquet encouraged players, parents and fans to consider how remarkable a season it was.

University of Montana officials are expecting a sold-out record crowd at the Saturday night August 31 opening game, as the Montana Grizzlies host the Appalachian State Mountaineers at 7 p.m.

After a long, hot summer, and an NCAA report in the rear-view mirror, the University of Montana football team prepares for the 2013 season, as players report on Sunday, with the first practice on Tuesday, August 6.

The NCAA report involving the Montana Grizzly football program was released on Friday. University of Montana President Royce Engstrom said the university's self-imposed sanctions were instrumental in the NCAA's findings, and that the university sought legal experts to help in that effort.

On Friday, July 26, the NCAA released its long-awaited report regarding the University of Montana football program. The report states that the university, and its former head coach, failed to monitor the football program.

In January of 2012, University of Montana President Royce Engstrom revealed that the NCAA was conducting an investigation into the Grizzly football program.

It's an issue that Missoulians have been dealing with for almost two years now, sexual assault.
