The Veterans Day ceremony at the Doughboy Statue in from of the county courthouse commemorated a little known campaign fought by American troops in Russia after the end of WWI.
On a cold Monday, November 11, a few dozen veterans, community officials and military historians met at the Doughboy Statue in downtown Missoula to commemorate an operation in which American troops were sent to fight in Russia following the end of World War I.
The bells tolled 21 times in Hamilton Sunday, November 11, at 11 a.m. as part of the national "Bells of Peace. But the Veteran's Day ceremonies are not over. Those bells included the school bell at the Ravalli County Museum.
