Tom DeLonge’s UFO research just got a little more legit. A former Pentagon official has come out to confirm the existence of a UFO-related investigative program called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP). The official, Luis Elizondo, now works with the former Blink-182 guitarist, releasing a declassified video of a potential unidentified flying object via YouTube.

DeLonge wasn’t lying when he said he had been working with high-profile government types. Elizondo ran the AATIP program since it was started in 2007, largely funded at the request of former Senate majority leader Harry Reid, who possesses a deep interest in space phenomena. Government funding for AATIP ceased in 2012, but Elizondo continued working at his Pentagon office until this October, resigning in protest of what he characterized as excessive secrecy and internal opposition.

With the AATIP’s existence coming into light, more attention has been brought on DeLonge. Elizondo is now a partner at To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science, which was founded by DeLonge. A new video called “Gimbal” has now gone viral after being released by To The Stars. It shows something unidentified on a pilot’s tracking system while he speaks with a fellow pilot attempting to figure out exactly what he’s seeing.

According to DeLonge’s website, key findings of the video include “no distinguishable flight surfaces, lack of obvious propulsion system and never-before-seen flight capabilities.”

In a new interview with DeLonge, the guitarist and UFO researcher claims this is just the tip of the iceberg. “All the things (people have) heard about and seen are the first step of 20," DeLonge tells the New York Daily News. “There's a lot more shit coming.”
