Tool + A Perfect Circle Apparently Will Not Release New Albums in 2017
The wait continues? According to a tweet send out by A Perfect Circle’s official account, neither APC or Tool will release new albums in 2017.
First of all, just breathe. Remember that Maynard James Keenan and co. love to mess with fans. Hell, we spoke to Tool drummer Danny Carey back in 2013 and he predicted an early 2014 release for Tool’s fifth studio album. So much for concrete plans…
Tool officially stated earlier this year that Maynard James Keenan has begun vocal work on the new Tool record. No official release plans have been revealed for Tool, but that’s what makes the A Perfect Circle news so distressing.
In March 2017, A Perfect Circle and BMG Records sent out an official press release announcing APC’s fourth album would indeed see a 2017 release date. It even included a quote from guitarist Billy Howerdel backing up the proclamation. “We just signed a new record deal with BMG! Looking forward to sharing new music with you soon,” Howerdel said. “New APC-2017!”
If you believe A Perfect Circle’s Twitter, however, the story is much different:
A Perfect Circle have been playing two new songs, “Feathers” and “Hourglass” on their 2017 U.S. tour, so there is new material brewing within the rock collective. When will Tool and A Perfect Circle finally gift fans with new music? Like the last decade-plus, we’ll just have to keep waiting patiently.
