Two Montana Grizzly Basketball Players Leave Team
University of Montana Grizzly basketball coach Travis DeCuire announced Friday that two players have chosen to leave the team.
Jared Samuelson from Billings, who just completed his freshman season and made some significant contributions, and Alphonso Anderson from Tacoma, Washington, who redshirted his freshman year while recovering from knee surgery, have decided not to return to the Griz this fall.
Samuelson, whose father Shawn played for Montana, was the team's seventh leading scorer and had their best shooting percentage. Both kids have done very well in the classroom and have represented Griz basketball well. These things are seldom easy. We hope for a smooth transition and wish both players the very best in their future endeavors.
Our thanks to Eric Taber in the UM Sports Information Department for letting us know.
