Ozzy Osbourne Sprayed by Malfunctioned Hose Mid-Set, Didn’t Miss a Beat
Ozzy Osbourne kicked off the third leg of his farewell trek 'No More Tours II' last Thursday (Aug. 30) at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pa., and all was going well until a fire hose the frontman uses to spray down the crowd during the show took on a life of its own. As can be seen in the video above, while the band begins to launch into the Black Sabbath classic "War Pigs," bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson calls for some assistance from a stagehand just before Osbourne steps right into the line of fire. Amazingly, the singer hardly missed a beat as he gingerly tip-toes out of the malfunctioning foam spray.
The show signaled the start of the latest North American round of Osbourne's goodbye outing which continues tonight (Sept. 4) in Toronto, Canada. This leg wraps up in the middle of October, then picks up again in Europe in January and goes through the beginning of March. The full itinerary can be found at here.
As Osbourne continues to close the chapter on his touring as a solo artist, rumors persist that Black Sabbath, who supposedly saw their own finale take place in February of 2017, might reconvene one last time. Both Ozzy and guitarist Tony Iommi have shown interest in reforming for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in their hometown of Birmingham, England. “I think that it would be a great thing to do to help represent Birmingham," Iommi said of reuniting at the opening ceremony of the international multi-sport event. "I’m up for it! Let’s see what happens!”
"That would be fantastic," Osbourne replied when asked if he would be willing to play with his old outfit. Leaving his options open, he added, "With Black Sabbath or on my own."
