Weekly Wire: Your New Music Playlist Featuring Tonight Alive, Judas Priest and More
Every Friday, we'll be curating for you the best new music of the week and beyond, putting together the best that hard rock and metal music has to offer as a part of our playlist, Weekly Wire. Here's what you can expect:
It's been a long winter, but this week we're back! We're featuring Tonight Alive, who recently released their newest album Underworld. The band has expanded on their pop-punk beginnings, and feel like a truly fully realized act. Their song "My Underworld" also features vocals by none other than Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, who offers a great balancing energy to singer Jenna McDougall.
We're also bringing the newest track from Judas Priest, "Lightning Strike." It's one of the best songs the band has released in years, a total assault of metal and energy, with each member of the group not showing their age in the least. Rob Halford's vocals sound as dominant as ever.
The playlist also packs recent singles like A Perfect Circle's moody and atmospheric "Disillusioned" and Machine Head's newly released "Bastards." It's already been a great new year of music, ranging from the metallic edge bands like Cane Hill bring to the forefront to the fun bounce of Turnstile.
This week also marked the release date of a variety of great records, including Avatar's Avatar Country, Black Veil Brides' Vale, and Joe Satriani's guitar epic What Happens Next. It's been a good week for hard rock and metal, and there's plenty to dig into.
