The Aussie Reality Show Episode Filmed in Wolf Creek, Montana
Did you know about this show? In 2010, a popular Aussie reality show called World’s Strictest Parents came to Wolf Creek, Montana, and more or less transformed our sleepy little corner of the Rockies into an impromptu behavior rehab clinic.
The premise is simple. Australia sends two out-of-control teens to live with a strict family, hoping a hard reset scares them straight. In this episode, Chloe and Christian get dumped on Rocking Z Ranch, where the rules are old school, ranch style, and non-negotiable.
No smoking. No booze. No drugs. No swearing. No flipping on the TV whenever you want. And if you live there, you work there. The family even hits them with “no work, no heat,” and Montana has said less polite things with one eyebrow raise.
The teens arrive ready to fight the ranch, the schedule, and real life
Chloe shows up proudly declaring she’s a walking tornado. Christian rolls in and pushes every boundary like it’s a sport. Within hours, they are testing the parents, refusing chores, and acting shocked that a ranch morning starts long before noon.
There’s a firewood standoff. There’s a dishes standoff. There’s a trying to walk off the ranch moment. And then the doozy. They sneak booze, get drunk, trash a room, and wake up hungover, mad at the world.
That’s when Montana Parenting Mode kicks in.
The part where Montana does what Montana does
The ranch parents are calm, firm, and consistent. They separate the teens when they start feeding off each other, they threaten to send Chloe back to Australia if she keeps it up, and they hand out consequences that involve work, not lectures.
Then the horses do what horses do. It’s hard to stay puffed up when a thousand-pound animal doesn't like your attitude and refuses to play along. By the end, both teens are riding, reading letters from home, and admitting that maybe they have been acting like idiots.
Montana did not sign up to be a reality TV boot camp. But for one week in 2010, Wolf Creek absolutely was.
