Yellowstone to Remain Open During Government Shutdown
So far the Government shutdown has been a minimal inconvenience for some. But, with tax refunds being halted until further notice, it is only a matter of time before people start to lose their minds. Thankfully our national parks will remain open though.
Secretary of Interior, Ryan Zinke, recently stepped down from his position. Leaving interim secretary, David Bernhardt, in charge. During the government shutdown, Bernhardt ordered all national parks to remain open. But, they have to "use funds for critical park services," in order to remain open. What does that mean? Regular maintenance of the parks will lose their budgets until the shutdown ends. That's right! The outhouses and trash cans will soon be filled to the brim.
If you plan on visiting Yellowstone in the near future, there are a few other things to be aware of before you make the trip.
