I have a confession to make. For the past month or so I have been indulging in the best cheeseburger and fries I’ve ever had. I am feeling a little bit guilty about not sharing, so I will let you in on my little secret. The best cheeseburger and fries I have ever eaten are from the newly reopened 9 Mile House, which is now known as the 9 Mile Roadhouse. You can still find this out of the way eatery at 28030 Old US Highway 10 West in Huson.

If you have been wondering when this off-the-beaten path restaurant was going to reopen, well wonder no more. They are open. Their menu is a bit smaller than it used to be, but everything on it is amazing. I don’t know about you, but I would rather go someplace where I only have a few options where no matter what I chose I couldn’t go wrong, than dine somewhere with tons of options but nothing is very good.

Since the historic 9 Mile House’s reopening, I have dined there almost once a week and at least one week twice. This historic restaurant has undergone a bit of a face lift inside, but still has managed to keep that same rustic charm that it always had. One new addition to this eatery is a copper bar and heat-treated copper on the bar wall that give it a just rich glow. It also got a upgrade in the name department. It is now the 9 Mile Roadhouse.

If you’re looking for some great food and beautiful drive a little ways out of town, then check out the 9 Mile Roadhouse. Head west on I-90, take a right off of the 9 Mile exit and drive about a mile. You can enjoy their great eats every day of the week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., except for Tuesdays when they are closed. I hope to see you there!
