My husband is absolutely in love with these bars. He loves them so much that it is rare he will share even a bar or two. He is known for eating the entire pan himself. It doesn’t matter that he practically makes himself sick by doing this, he still won’t stop eating them.

I usually make this recipe with a mixture of chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. However, it is Easter so I decided to replace those boring old chocolate chips with my husband’s favorite Easter candy, Cadbury mini eggs. I’m pretty sure he won’t mind.

Cadbury Easter Egg Bars

1 box chocolate cake mix

1 stick butter

2 eggs

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 cup chopped nuts

1 1/2 cups shredded coconut

2 cups of chocolate Cadbury mini eggs

1 cup of white chocolate Cadbury mini eggs

Open the cake mix and pour into a bowl and then set aside. Melt the stick of butter. Add the egg to the butter and beat until combined. Add the butter mixture to the cake mix and stir until combined. Dump the cake mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Press into the bottom and then bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes.

While the cake is baking, in a bowl mix together the remaining egg, the sweetened condensed milk, the chopped nuts and the coconut. Pour this mix on top of the baked cake and spread it around evenly over the cake. Sprinkle the white chocolate and chocolate Cadbury mini eggs on top and then gently press down on them. Place back into the oven for 25-30 minutes. Let cool and then cut into bars.
