Missoula's Walking Corpse Syndrome has been working on a new album to include their most  recent additions to the band, Ryan Kromdar on guitar and vocalist Leif Winterrowd (who you may remember from the band Mageddon). The band has decided to turn a different direction stylistically with the album tentatively titled "Epsilon." Before the 2008 release of "Forsaken" WCS was composed of 6 members to include violin and keys. Keyboardist, Meredeath LaChryma, left the band to join the military and the band did not seek to find a replacement. Soon after the release of "Narcissist" in 2010, guitarist and founding member Matthew Bile temporarily left to fill in on guitar on a six month tour for Hemlock. A few months after Bile's return, Ryan was added as a second guitarist, and just this April, Leif took the role as vocalist.

Since the changes in the lineup, Walking Corpse Syndrome has decided to try a new route.  They are stepping away from the Goth Metal and more towards what I would call Melodic Death Metal.  When I spoke with Matthew Bile about how he would classify the band's new sound, he said the he didn't want to classify it and that they were still finding out themselves. "As long as its dark and heavy, its what we want it to sound like."

While Working on pre-production for the new album, the band put together a video of the work they are doing to produce the best album they can with limited funds.  This video even earned WCS a write up on Metalunderground.com. If you want to see the product of all their hard work, you can catch Walking Corpse Syndrome with Odyssey (WA) and Beefcurtain at the Dark Horse on Friday, July 20th at 9pm. This is a 21+ show and only $2 at the door.  Support your local Metal and go!!! Until then, enjoy the video... There have been  promises of more to come!
