If you have a child, niece, nephew, grandchild or just a friend's kid, between the age of 12-15 years of age, then take them hunting tomorrow or Friday (10/18-10/19). Montana FWP have created a special head start for the youth of the state, by allowing them to take to the field before general season opens Saturday.

This Thursday and Friday, the two days before the general rifle hunting season have been set aside as the statewide youth deer hunt, according to Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks.

Busy weekend for yours truly. Made the 360 mile trip to Billings Friday night. Got there just in time to get a few hours sleep before the 2012 season opener on Pronghorn Antelope. Needless to say, my hunt was a success.
