The waitress, Chelsea Welch, was canned after the pastor complained to the restaurant's manager that the photo of the receipt, which contained a snarky note invoking God, "ruined" her reputation.

Pastor Alois Bell, who's a woman rather than a man despite initial reports, described the incident as a "lapse in character and judgment" and said it highly embarrassed her.

So, Applebee's fired Welch for violating Bell's "right to privacy," a move which surprised the waitress since there's nothing in the employee handbook that specifically forbids the actions she took.

"I had no intention of starting a witch hunt or hurting anyone. I just wanted to share a picture I found interesting," said Welch. "I come home exhausted, sore, burnt, dirty and blistered on a good day. And after all that, I can be fired for ‘embarrassing’ someone who directly insults their server on religious grounds."

“If this person wrote the note, obviously they wanted it seen by someone," Welch continued. “I’ve been stiffed on tips before, but this is the first time I’ve seen the Big Man used as reasoning."

What do you think? Should Welch have been fired?
