Will Scary Stories Movie Live Up to Book?

Illustration by Stephen Gammell. Photo courtesy of Youtube.

I remember reading ‘Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark’ as a kid and getting nightmares from the illustrations alone.  The stories were old urban legends and tales of horror that were retold by author Alvin Schwartz but the drawings by Stephen Gammell were enough to stay with you far after your eyelids closed.

Deadline Hollywood reports that CBS has bought into a film adaptation with help from the writers of ‘Saw.’ I can only imagine how creepy this can be, but honestly, if it was to be an animated version with Gammell’s artwork I think I would revert to bed wetting.
