Montanans know Alpine Touch is more than a seasoning, it’s a lifestyle. Since 1959, this local brand has been adding a little bit of magic to our meals, making it a staple in every kitchen throughout Big Sky Country. But now, Alpine Touch is adding some spice to a whole new frontier: jerky.

Yes, you read that right. The seasoning we’ve been using to season steaks, potatoes, and, let’s be honest, more than a few experiments in the kitchen, is now the star of Alpine Touch Rough Cut Jerky. Working with Ranch House Sausage Co. in Billings, they developed two flavors: Original All-Purpose and Hickory Smoke. And believe me, this is not run-of-the-mill gas station jerky.

The Original flavor is like someone decided to marinate pure Montana beef with LOVE. Hickory Smoke, on the other hand, is like a backyard campfire in your mouth. Minus the watery eyes and charred marshmallow.

What’s great about this move? It’s not merely jerky; it’s an evolution. Alpine Touch has long been a Montana staple, beginning in a small grocery store in Whitefish and growing into an empire of seasonings and rubs. And now, they are powering our hikes, fishing trips, and hunting packs with jerky.

So next time you’re preparing for a trek in Glacier or just want a snack that yells “Montana,” do give this jerky a shot. Alpine Touch hasn’t steered us wrong yet, and I doubt very much this jerky is where it starts.
