A more intimate Corvallis Memorial Day Parade - with some social distancing, too. Crowd size limits in Montana because of the COVID-19 threat led American Legion Post 91 to limit the popular spring parade to veterans - both walking and riding, the Legion Riders motorcycle group and a contingent of classic cars. Leading the parade - a riderless horse, (see photo below) to signify those who have given their lives for the country.

The crowd was smaller, but applause often broke out as participants passed by. The Corvallis Post 91 also scheduled a noon ceremony at the Corvallis Cemetery, reading the names of the many veterans buried there, followed by the laying of a wreath into the Bitterroot River at the Woodside Bridge, honoring those who died at sea.
