Hamilton's American Legion Post 47 had their annual early morning Memorial Day ceremony at the World War I doughboy statue on the lawn of the Ravalli County Museum May 25. Commander Ruth Cook said the event was not publicized to reduce the COVID-19 risk. The ceremony included a 21-gun salute with the Marine Corps League. Following the Museum ceremony, Legion members and others traveled to the Main Street Bridge where a wreath was placed in the Bitterroot River to commemorate those lost at sea. The last part of the presentation was in the Veterans area of Hamilton's Riverview Cemetery.
