There's just something about the city of Chicago and Anthrax singer Joey Belladonna singing the National Anthem that works well. The vocalist was back in Chicago Saturday night (Nov. 12) to get things started right between the Chicago Bulls and their opponents for the night, the Washington Wizards.

The announcer reveals before the performance that it was "'80s Night," but it's not clear if Belladonna's appearance was tied to the promotion. However, the Anthrax vocalist stepped up to the mic and showed off his powerful pipes to the delight of the Chicago crowd.

This is not Belladonna's first experience delivering the anthem, even with the Chicago Bulls as he previously nailed a performance during a 2013 appearance for the Bulls. The singer definitely has some solid ties in the Windy City as he also delivered the anthem for the World Series champs Chicago Cubs back in September of this year as they were winding down the regular season. During that appearance, Joey's Anthrax members were also in attendance and were spotted on the field and posing for photos.

Anthrax are currently off the road for the remainder of the year, having recently finished dates with Slayer and Death Angel. The band is still supporting their For All Kings album and will next hit the stage on Feb. 2 as part of the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise out of Miami. Stay up to date on their touring here.
