The Hamilton School Board signed an agreement with the City of Hamilton Thursday afternoon to allow temporary occupancy of the new sports complex on Kurtz Lane. With that, the Hamilton-Miles City State Quarter-final Class A high school football game will be on the new turf Saturday, November 3. Superintendent Tom Korst said the concessions area is the final question mark, but that confidence is high that all will be well when the crowd comes to the 1 p.m. Saturday.

Korst said the team has been practicing on the new artificial surface and the coaches told the board this week that they are excited to have the team on that field, which is directly south of Hamilton High School. Korst said the new bleachers are aluminum, and with the colder weather expected this weekend, he suggested fans bring blankets or stadium chairs to sit on. However, fans will be able to use the expansive parking lot. The new scoreboard went through its testing phase last week. There are some areas still under construction, Korst said. Those are track and field areas and some property that will be seeded with grass. KLYQ Radio will be broadcasting the game at 1240 AM and at klyq.com, along with the free KLYQ cellphone app.
