If you think Harrison Ford was tough as Indiana Jones, just wait until you hear about how he tackled filming "1923" in Butte. Spoiler: even Hollywood stars are not safe from our cruel winters.

In a recent interview, Ford and his co-star Helen Mirren spilled the (very hot) tea on filming in Montana’s freezing weather. Mirren describes: “It was really, really, really cold, but it was beautiful.” Meanwhile, Ford shrugged his shoulders and said what many of us Montanans believe in the cold of winter. Ford said: “With the Montana cold you just gotta grin and bear it.”

When he said "grin and bear it" he must have meant "buy battery-heated underwear."

Yeah, Ford and Mirren admitted that they had to wear electric long-johns just to survive the day. But no matter how much high-tech warmth you pack, Montana’s winter is not for all of us. So picturing Hollywood royalty quaking in their heated skivvies makes me feel just a little bit better.

Despite the cold temperatures, the "1923" cast connected in the best way they know how: By talking smack and roasting each other. Mirren called Ford a “bloke” who demands respect, while Ford referred to Mirren as a “broad,” in the most Hans Solo way imaginable. Essentially, they bicker like an elderly married couple, which only makes their on-screen relationship that much better.

This isn’t a show about tough times so much as it’s made by people who toughed it out. So the next time you’re out scraping ice off your windshield at 6 AM, just remember: Hans Solo wears heated/electric underwear.
