Better Business Bureau Warns About Company Holding Missoula Event
I have a few friends that have bought into timeshares. They got in on pretty good deals and the places are affordable and convenient. They're really happy with their decisions to buy. But I know that's not always the case with timeshares - and many times they end up being a regret for those that purchased them. Imagine being stuck with one you never used and all it did was cost you money - and then the people that were supposed to help you get out of the contractual obligations ended up costing you more money and never helped solve your problem. Those are the claims being made against a company that is scheduled to hold a presentation in Missoula tomorrow (3/31).
If you're reading this and you happen to have plans to attend an event with Consumer Law Protection at Missoula's Hilton Garden Inn.....you might want to think twice before handing over your hard-earned money for any services. A Missoulian article tells how the company's website claims one of the services they offer is "contract assistance" with timeshares. But they've been given an "F" rating by the Better Business Bureau and there are numerous complaints from people that have lost money after being misled after presentations like the one that's planned for tomorrow. In many cases people have spent thousands of dollars for services that weren't delivered.
A BBB article in January gave some pretty unflattering examples of customer complaints against Consumer Law Protection, and highlighted stories of those that lost significant amounts of money - with one person losing as much as $87,000.
The company is based out of Missouri but a local BBB representative was quoted in the Missoulian article as saying: "this appears to be more of an East Coast and Midwest type of scam. Obviously they're trying to find people in the Northwest and Pacific, which is why they might be coming to Missoula. But we have not had any victims of that company."
If you or anybody you know is scheduled to attend the presentation in Missoula - there are some major red flags with the company that claims they'll be able to help with your situation. Be careful!
