Last May, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Missoula had to close its doors after nearly 50 years of service.

As a result, 104 big and little mentoring matches had to be dissolved. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flathead County has been working to extend its reach to include Missoula. Over the past 10 months they have been in contact with each of the mentoring matches that were closed and offered to enroll them in the Flathead program.

There is now an office in Missoula with a fulltime employee who is working to re-enroll closed matches, enroll new Bigs and Littles and to rebuild a robust program in Missoula. And they have changed their name to Big Brothers Big Sisters Northwest Montana to best reflect the areas they now serve.

So far individuals, businesses and foundations have been encouraging and generous as they work to re-establish mentoring in Missoula. Our thanks to the Missoula Chamber of Commerce for inviting us to help spread the word. If you would like to find out more about becoming a mentor, enrolling children in the program or to make contributions you can visit here.
