It is almost time for one the biggest food holidays of the year. Okay, this Sunday is not an "official" holiday. But, it ranks in the top 5 for my favorite days to chow down on some grub. Thankfully, the "holiday" follows hunting season, and there is usually a surplus of wild game in the freezer. That is why I like to utilize the wild game and incorporate it into as many dishes as I can for the upcoming football game.

One of the most popular foods for Sunday's game would have to be NACHOS. They are easy to make and can go a long way when it comes to feeding party guests. So, reach into your freezer and bust out a package of elk or venison hamburger and get to cooking. We will add a lot of the same ingredients you are used to seeing in classic nachos.  Except, instead of chips, we are tossing down a layer of waffle fries. (Think of it as a big game version of the classic SUPER potato oles from Taco Johns.)

According to Legendary Whitetails, here is what you'll need:

INGREDIENTS

• 12 oz. frozen waffle fries
• 1 lb. ground venison
• 1 taco seasoning packet
• 4 slices bacon
• 2 cups shredded Colby-jack cheese
• 1 cup shredded lettuce
• ¼ cup diced jalapenos
• ¼ cup diced onions
• ¼ cup black olives
• ½ cup diced tomatoes
• Sour cream
• Cholula hot sauce
