It is almost time for one the biggest food holidays of the year. Okay, this Sunday is not an "official" holiday. But, it ranks in the top 5 for my favorite days to chow down on some grub. Thankfully, the "holiday" follows hunting season, and there is usually a surplus of wild game in the freezer. That is why I like to utilize the wild game and incorporate it into as many dishes as I can for the upcoming game.

One of my favorite, and easiest recipes to make for any football game, is queso dip. It is so easy, and always a crowd favorite at your party. And it is one of those recipes that keeps your football watching buddies constantly coming back until the serving dish is clean. It involves the most important recipe in any football recipe. CHESSE, CHEESE and MORE CHEESE. Plus, it is so easy to make, you wont have to miss kick off.

All you need to do is:

Brown 1lb of elk (or venison) in a pan

Cube 1/2 a brick of Velvetta cheese

Toss both browned burger and cheese into a crock pot.

Stir in 1 can of Rotel Tomatoes

Turn Crock on and wait 20-30 minutes for mixture to melt

SERVE with chips or bread.

VOILA! You got yourself some of the best queso on the planet. Now, obviously you can substitute beef instead of elk. But, serving up Big Game for the Big Game is one of the most Montana ways to celebrate the unofficial holiday.
