Internet Slams California Rapper’s Yellowstone Violation
Just when you think you’ve seen it all in Yellowstone, along comes another touron to show you how very wrong you are.
The California rapper Doeboi909 thought it was a great idea to film himself stepping off the boardwalk at Mammoth Hot Springs to approach a thermal feature. His vape in hand, he walked right up to the scalding pool, ignoring every cautioning sign and every piece of common sense in a park.
The video, posted on May 4th, shows him asking the internet: “Where to go next?” dangerously close to the fragile crust of the hot spring. It's not just reckless. It’s illegal. Yellowstone’s rules are simple: stay on the boardwalks. They have signs posted EVERYWHERE! They are there because the ground may open up beneath you, dropping you into boiling, acidic water.
The backlash online was immediate. People in the comments started tearing this guy a new one.. “This isn’t just stupid, it’s disrespectful to everyone who works to protect this park,” another user wrote. Another wrote, “Hope the park rangers see this and that they follow up.”
The park authorities had no knowledge of the incident until it was reported by the media. They have since referred the video to law enforcement for review. Infractions like this can result in fines, jail time, and being barred from the park.
For Montana, it’s just one more episode of outsiders treating our backyard as their playground. We're tired of it. Yellowstone is not the backdrop for your next music video. It’s a national treasure, for crying out loud, and it deserves to be treated as such.
So, to all future visitors: enjoy the beauty, take your photos, but mind the rules. Or the internet may tear you apart faster than a pack of Yellowstone wolves.
