Chris Cornell’s Widow Shares Tender Father-Son Video About Christmas Family Traditions
What Christmas traditions do you have? In a new video shared by the widow of Chris Cornell, the late singer and his son Christopher share their thoughts on the holiday in a special video that was shot for Christopher's school project back in 2014.
"Every year around this time we like to go to our house in Rome and we bring all of our friends and family there and we celebrate the holidays there. It's a very beautiful place around Christmas," starts the elder Cornell, while both father and son speak about finding a special tree to decorate and some of the fun activities around the holidays like surfing, biking, skiing and snowboarding. They also speak of having family around and loving grandpa's cooking, while also revealing that Christopher's birthday falls between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
"Sharing a special Christmas video that Chris made with C 3 years ago for school. While the holidays will never be the same again without Chris, we will always remember his boundless love. Happy Holidays & thank you all for your much needed love and support," stated Vicky Cornell in her tweet with the video.
After the father and son moment to start the clip, there's a variety of family photos both in house and enjoying some outdoor adventures over the holidays as well.
Sadly, Chris Cornell took his own life earlier this year while on tour with Soundgarden in Detroit. The Cornell family have been open in their grieving, often sharing special moments with fans online. Meanwhile, Cornell's Soundgarden bandmates have remained mostly quiet on the matter, with drummer Matt Cameron stating earlier this fall, "I don't think we're ready to say anything other than ... Kim and Ben and I are certainly aware of how much our fans are hurting and we're certainly hurting right there along with them. But we're extremely private people, and we're all still processing our grief in our own way and on our own time. But we definitely are thinking of our fans and love them very much."
