Did yodu know?
Montanan Colin Meloy is a man of many, many talents. He'd likely say his favorite talent is being a father, but here are a few projects you may not know about. Did you know that Colin released a solo album in 2005 performing 6 Morrisey songs? This was his first covers EP which was later sold to raise funds after The Decemberists' trailer full of tour equipment and instruments was stolen. He also did one where he did cover versions of The Kinks in 2013.
Colin Meloy is a gifted writer. He comes from a family of writers and has released everything from an entire book about The Replacements' album 'Let It Be' to children's books. His website and socials are fun and super interesting.
Another Fun Fact
Fans were pleasantly surprised to hear The Decemberists during the 2021 version of Suicide Squad. The song "Sucker's Prayer" is featured about 15 minutes into the film.
Catching up with the band.
In March of 2021, The Decemberists, like many bands, canceled their summer tour due to the pandemic, making the announcement of the August show at the KettleHouse Amphitheater that much more exciting and welcome. Their latest release is 2018's "I'll Be Your Girl."
