You've been holed up at home for almost a full year now, it's OK to get out of the house for 2 hours for some socially distanced fun. In fact, it's necessary for your mental health. There's a comedy show tonight from 7:30 to 9:30 for only $5, and you deserve some fun, and maybe an early Valentine's date.

Have you been to Stave and Hoop yet? Probably not, considering most of us stay home, isolated, tapping away at our laptops on the couch, ordering take out. Stave and Hoop is a new speakeasy style bar, restaurant, and music venue in the heart of downtown Missoula at original site of the Garden City Bottling & Liquor Company. I randomly stumbled upon it one day as Oliver and I were taking a shortcut through the alley at The Sweat Shop studio and there it was, looking all secret and classy with their alley entrance. The address is 223 North Higgins, in the alley between Higgins and Ryman, or, between the Montana Roots store and Office City.

According to their website, Stave and Hoop was build to pay homage to the history of the building, and "out of history bloomed a modern day, speakeasy style bar serving incredible craft cocktails, beer, wine and Montana style comfort food." It is strictly a 21+ venue and I love that their opening time is listed as "4:06." Clever.

Tonight, Stave and Hoop will host a comedy show featuring Nicholas Hyde, Lynn Soloman, Cory Demers, Aaron Juhl, and Jackie Rapetti, hosted by Jordan Demander. Again, the show starts at 7:30 and it's just a $5 cover. Not sure of the capacity but they say they "guarantee" social distancing. If you go, let us know how it went, we are dying to check it out!
