‘Deadpool’ Promos Promise Something for Everyone on Valentine’s Day
Deadpool hits theaters on Valentine’s Day weekend, offering some wildly violent and profane counter-programming to your typical romantic offerings, though the people at Fox have been doing their best to promote the love story aspect of the film. Two new promos have arrived online, offering a little something for everyone on this special holiday.
The first promo above is for the ladies, with Ryan Reynolds in full Deadpool costume, lounging seductively with a single red rose as he describes what his body looks like under that red suit. According to Mr. Pool here, being a superhero means you have super…uh, everything. Anyway! The next promo is for the dudes, with Reynolds offering up a little Valentine’s Day advice. How thoughtful:
Deadpool may be the most heavily-marketed film in recent memory, with new promos, clips, photos and TV spots dropping pretty much every day for the last few months. The Merc With a Mouth will also have a big presence during the Super Bowl, so expect even more promos to arrive online tomorrow night.
And if that’s not enough, Deadpool is taking over all of the ad programming for eight different shows on five Viacom channels, including MTV and Comedy Central, on the evening of Monday, February 8. Via The Wrap, Deadpool promos will air during shows like Workaholics and Tosh.0 (both of which boast audiences that are probably already sold on the film), and during Golden Girls on LOGO — indulging the character’s well-known obsession with Bea Arthur.
Deadpool hits theaters on February 12.
