2020 has changed a lot of how we celebrate holidays. Thanksgiving this year is likely going to be filled with many more, but much smaller dinner parties. Still before we know it, Christmas will be here and we still havent quite figured out what to do about this pesky COVID 19. What is Santa going to do this year? I am assuming we cant go sit on his lap and take pictures, like we are used to. I have heard rumors that "Mall Santa" might even be in a bubble this year. ITS RIDICULOUS.

There is on way we can celebrate with Santa this holiday season. We can bring back something that we have been missing for years. Something that spreads Christmas spirit, while allowing families to continue social distancing. Im talking about the "Santa Fly Over."

The last time we witnessed the Santa Fly Over was nearly 15 years ago.

According to a 2005 article in the Missoulian

Northwest Fresh Tidyman's closed its Missoula store in July, the flying Santa Claus almost went down with it.

Tidyman's had decided the flying Santa money would be better spent on meals and presents for families who needed help during the holidays. The company put Santa into storage after 10 years of making appearances in Missoula's skies.

Fast forward to 2020, and you will find a Facebook Group that is rallying to bring the Santa Fly Over back. The only hang up would be to somehow come up with the donations to fund the flights. We would need to find the gas money and a pilot willing to fly 1,000 pounds of lights over the valley.

According to the Missoulian article from 2005

The hour and a half flight costs $1,800.
