A First! Fans Can Join UM Lady Griz at Annual Postseason Banquet
If you are devoted University of Montana Lady Griz basketball fans, being pioneer diners should appeal to you.
Now, we don't mean an authentic pioneer dinner, fashioned from cookbooks of the early west. We mean it's an opportunity for you to be the first fans at the table, as the Lady Griz, for the very first time, are opening their end-of-year banquet to the public. Seating will be somewhat limited, though.
It's another part of the wave of goodwill and public relation interaction that head coach Brian Holsinger, who just completed his first season at the helm, has introduced to the program. Like his players, he appreciates the wonderful fan support Lady Griz basketball gets.
Prior to the start of the season, there was the Meet the Lady Griz Brunch. During the season, all the players were on the court for 10 minutes to do a meet and greet for the fans at the conclusion of each home game, although continued COVID concerns eventually put the brakes on that. Still, the 10-Minute Mingle was a hit and will undoubtedly continue.
Now for the first time, the team's postseason banquet is open to the public. The event, which will honor the 2021-22 Lady Griz and the team's senior class, is scheduled for Thursday, April 14, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the DoubleTree Hotel's Bitterroot/Blackfoot room.
Dinner will be served at 5:30. The program will begin at 6:00. A buffet dinner will feature chicken and salmon options. There will be a cash bar and auction items available.
Tickets are $50 per person. Again, because there will be limited fan seating you should RSVP immediately by contacting assistant coach Joslyn Tinkle at firstname.lastname@example.org by TOMORROW (THURSDAY), April 7 to reserve a spot.
Payment can be made in person at the Department of Athletics or the Lady Griz basketball offices, or through the mail. Early reservations also can be paid for on the night of the event.
