Senior Day will take on some extra-special meaning for members of the University of Montana Grizzly softball team.

As only the fourth year of the program's existence winds down, there is a lot riding on the final three-game home stand of the season this Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5.

The Griz are battling to stay alive in the Big Sky Conference standings to make it to the six-team conference tournament, hosting co-league leader Sacramento State in a doubleheader Friday at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m., and a single game Saturday at 1:00.

Friday's Set the Expectation Game is intended to raise awareness for sexual assault prevention on college campuses.  Saturday of course is Senior Day. Of the 11 Montana seniors on the roster, 10 of them are inaugural team members, becoming the first four-year class for the program! A ceremony will be held for those seniors after the game.

Tickets are as low as $6 each and can be purchased in advance or at the gates of the beautiful Grizzly Softball Field at South and Higgins.

We are hoping for some mild spring weather Friday and Saturday and to draw some big crowds to help send the Griz on to post-season play!
