At some point, pretty much every kid dreams of being a professional athlete. And for 42-year-old David Ayers of Toronto, that dream came true on Saturday night, when he was called on to play goalie for the Carolina Hurricanes in a game agains the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Ayers is the Zamboni driver at Scotiabank Arena and designated backup goalie, as required by the NHL. But he quickly found his groove and shut out the Leafs in the third period, stopping ever shot he faced and leading the 'Canes to a 6-3 victory!
