For the first time in the Flathead, anyone can get a COVID-19 test for free, with or without showing symptoms. The Lake County/CSKT Unified Command Center will be holding 4 testing events in 4 days at 4 different locations, making it the largest pandemic testing event in Montana.

In line with Governor Steve Bullock’s goal to test 60,000 Montanans tested per month, Lake County public health officials are asking that everyone get tested, even if you're not showing symptoms, to ensure that you're not currently infected and that your home is free of COVID-19. These tests are totally free to residents of Lake County and the Flathead Reservation and should not take more than 30 minutes, with results expected in about a week's time.

All events are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Arlee Celebration (powwow) Grounds, June 17
Pablo, Salish Kootenai College, June 18
Polson High School Parking Lot, June 19
Elmo, Standing Arrow Celebration Grounds, June 20

This is drive thru testing so you don't even have to get out of your car and obviously proper safety guidelines will be followed for social distancing and sanitizing. The test is a simple, quick nasal swab.

Remember that not everyone who is positive shows symptoms, and new studies suggest that asymptomatic carriers of the coronavirus are more common than once thought. This test will show if you are infected.

NOTE: This is not an anti-body test that reveals if you’ve ever had the virus; this test shows if you currently have COVID-19. Those who are tested will need to provide contact information to receive results. At this time there is no age limit to test. For more questions, call (406) 275-2779 or write info@ucc-jic.com
